 Electronic Resources

South Central Regional Library Council provides access to the following electronic resources.  Please note that the New York State Library offers additional databases via its NOVELny program.

Candid Foundation Directory

(Provided by ESLN for all governing and affiliate member staff and NOT for public use)

Candid's Foundation Directory is a best-in-class research tool that helps nonprofits identify and connect with over 240,000 U.S. grantmakers. The tools available in the database are meant to reveal opportunities beyond published calls for proposals, which Candid claims make up less than 1% of total foundation funding.

To access the directory: https://access.esln.org/

To aid us all in effectively utilizing this resource, Candid maintains a regular schedule of live webinars, as well as a set of recorded videos available on-demand to help us learn how to succeed in finding grant funding.

EBSCO Literary Reference Source

(provided by SCRLC for all governing members and their component libraries)

Log in to EBSCO Literary Reference Source here with SCRLC's URL referral.

This full-text database provides a broad spectrum of information on thousands of authors and their works across literary disciplines and timeframes. It includes reference works, books, literary journals, and original content from EBSCO Publishing, featuring an expansive collection of author biographies, plot summaries & work overviews, full-text essays from leading publishers, literary reference books & monographs, cover-to-cover full text for literary magazines & journals, book reviews, poems from hundreds of sources, short stories, classic texts, and author interviews.

This database is added to libraries' EBSCOhost databases menu; libraries not using EBSCOhost can log in directly. For assistance, contact Claire Lovell at clovell@scrlc.org.

Our subscription to other EBSCO databases will include free trials.  In the past, this included Teacher Reference Center, GreenFILE, and several ebook collections, although the list of trial databases will change with no notification to us or to you.  When available, these are added to your EBSCOhost list, which is accessible with your institution's username and password here: EBSCOhost Login
