New York State libraries that receive access to FirstSearch through the subscription maintained by the South Central Regional Library Council (SCLRC) now have access to the new WorldCat Discovery Servicesthrough that subscription. WorldCat Discovery will replace the FirstSearch as the interface users and public services staffs search to locate the resources they need in SCRLC libraries and in libraries around the world starting in late 2016.
WorldCat Discovery enables library staff and users to discover more than 1.8 billion electronic, digital and physical resources in SCRLC libraries and libraries worldwide through a single search of WorldCat and a central index that represents more than 2,100 e-content collections. It also makes your collections visible on the websites such as Google, Goodreads and Wikipedia where people often begin their research.
