This webinar will discuss new emerging technologies that will or are already changing our lives in various ways ranging from gamification, 3D printing, biohacking, digital currency, drones, to robots. Let's find out why these technologies are significant and how they can influence what libraries do.

Photo by Ray SchwartzBohyun Kim is the Associate Director for Library Applications and Knowledge Systems at University of Maryland, Baltimore, Health Sciences and Human Services Library. She is the author of two books, The Library Mobile Experience: Practices and User Expectations (ALA TechSource, 2013) and Understanding Gamification (ALA TechSource, 2015). She has also published many articles and given invited or peer-reviewed presentations on a variety of topics related to emerging technologies from the Mobile Web to Biohackerspace and their impact on libraries. She was one of the selected group of panelists for the "Top Technology Trends" program at the ALA Annual Conference in 2014 and is the founding editor of ACRL TechConnect Blog. She holds a Master's degree in philosophy from Harvard University and another Master's degree in library and information science from Simmons College. She regularly tweets at @bohyunkim, and less frequently writes in her blog, Library Hat.
