The Director's Cup

Good day,

It's October, and with it brings Camp Finance, the annual conference of the New York Council of Nonprofits (NYCON), which this year was held on Thursday and Friday, the 5th and 6th.

I don't get to Camp Finance every year, but both Danna Harris, SCRLC's fiscal services manager, and I were able to attend this time. Besides the stellar programming, it is a great opportunity to network with NYCON members and staff. A couple of SCRLC members were there as well as several staff from another library council. It is a very practical conference, and we always come back with ideas for improving what we do and areas to follow up.

SCRLC has been a member of NYCON for decades. They navigate our various types of insurance (e.g., health, Directors & Officers, property) and help us review coverage, administer our Flexible Spending Account, and throughout the year are often the first place we hear of changes or new requirements we need to address, e.g. the Paid Family Leave Act.

Yours in partnership,
