Presented by: Ben Bizzle
Audience: SCRLC Board and Advisory Committee Members; Directors and Library Leaders; All Librarians
Date: Friday, November 18
Time/Location: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM; Finger Lakes Library System, Ithaca
Description: This half-day program focuses on expanding the libraries reach through traditional marketing, social media, and effective web design. It is ideal for directors and decision-makers as these areas need leadership guidance and approval in order for a library to take advantage of opportunities they create. The program includes effectively "telling your library story" to the community and how a focus on these areas increases return on investment with regard to the resources we provide.
Outcomes: By the end of the workshop, participants will:
- Know how to define your brand and know why it is crucial to meeting the needs of your users and potential users.
- Have strategies to get stakeholders on board and engaged, including how to address budgeting concerns.
- Understand the importance of the library's website as the digital main branch of the library, and have guidance for creating and promoting it.
- Know how to pull it all together into a manageable campaign through strong leadership and teamwork.
