For anyone making a transition, whether you are a recent library school graduate, job hunting, changing jobs or advancing your career, this session will cover the evolving roles and opportunities in the information profession, what this means for librarians, and how to design a career strategy to keep your skills current with the shifting profession.

 

 

 

Lisa is a people-centered design advocate and information professional with a few "library ribbons" including Special Libraries Association (SLA) Rising Star, Library Journal (LJ) Mover & Shaker, American Library Association (ALA) Emerging Leader, and Association of Research Libraries (ARL) Diversity Scholar. Her professional interests include consumer health, emerging technologies, health literacy, project management, unconferences, and usability. Lisa is half of People Interact, a consultancy that works with information professionals, libraries, and nonprofits to implement creative solutions to effectively improve individual and organizational performance by focusing on the human element. Sandra is currently an independent librarian. In her past life as a public young adult librarian, she gained professional recognition as an American Library Association (ALA) Emerging Leader and a Library Journal (LJ) Mover & Shaker. Sandra's professional experience includes education & career services, small business and financial literacy, "disconnected youth", adult literacy and project management.
