Lunch & Learn: AI in Medicine11:00AM-12:00PM February 25th, 2026
As tools like ChatGPT become more common in research, this presentation looks at how they might help with one of the most time-consuming parts of writing a systematic review: searching for relevant studies. Our study tested whether ChatGPT could create effective search strategies by comparing its outputs to those used in established Cochrane systematic reviews. Specifically, we assessed the precision and recall of ChatGPT-generated search strategies against the PubMed strategies and included studies from nine recently published Cochrane reviews. We will explore the implications of these findings and the potential role of AI in enhancing systematic review search strategy development.
